Life Groups
Church is easier in smaller rooms.
Sunday is where the whole church gathers. A Life Group is where you are actually known — a handful of people meeting midweek to eat together, read the Bible and pray for one another.
What to expect
No performance required.
You do not need to know your way around a Bible, have anything sorted out, or be ready to pray out loud. Plenty of people spend their first few weeks mostly listening.
They meet midweek
Evenings, in homes across South East London. Most groups run fortnightly or weekly during term time.
They’re small on purpose
Usually eight to twelve people. Small enough that you are missed when you are not there.
There’s food
Almost always. Church is easier over a meal, and nobody has ever complained about this part.
You can visit first
Come once, see what you think, decide afterwards. There is no commitment in turning up.
Find a group
Tell us roughly where you are and what would suit you, and someone will get back to you with a group or two to try.
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Acts 2:42
This is the oldest idea in the church.
Long before buildings and programmes, following Jesus happened in houses, around food, among people who knew each other’s names. Life Groups are just that, still.
